Trout Tips: Practice makes perfect

Here's one from the archives, and I picked it because a lot of fly fishers around the country are dusting off the gear and getting ready to hit the water for the first time this spring. It's simple, really. Don't forget to practice.

Practice Casting Intro from Trout Unlimited on Vimeo.

Ask Kirk Deeter shows above, making a point to practice casting a few times year will help you iron out the kinks in your cast and identify some issues that are best addressed before you hit the water. Get out to the local park pond (or even just the grass in the front yard) and start casting. Wouldn't you rather know what problems you're up against before you hit the water?

Nice, Kirk. Casting on the pond that was outside my office for 15 years!
